Stefan Martin Riesel

Finally, the recognition of my degree here in Germany.

Last week finally came to recognize my diploma in Civil engineer here in Germany, received the following reply:
"Wir erteilen Ihnen, Herrn Stefan Martin Riesel, geb. am 6/14/1976, die zum Genehmigung Fuhren Berusbezeichnung der Ingenieur. "
That is I have permission to use my title of engineer. After this I went to the Chamber of engineers to know how the regulation of the profession, and this is somewhat different from Brazil, here I need not be affiliated in order to work, in fact they pretty much only accept memberships engineers autonomous. But I still can not sign for it as the technical as well as engineers working recenformados is nescessário first three years and then send a proof of this period and of the projects.

It took me a long time to find where to get this recognition, how and what the practical results of this recognition, so if someone needs to make this process follows the recipe:

1) First of all check how this ranked the university issuing the diploma, in Anabin site has a list of 780 universities and a concept of each one .

2) Then determine where to make the request and it depends on the profession, can be seen in this list:

http://www.anabin.de/xml/xmlStellenListen.asp?Gruppe=B

3) Surely the requirements for each profession should be different but in my case was asked:

  • Lebenslauf "Curriculum"
  • Ausweis (amtlich beglaubigte Kopie von sämtlichen Eintragungen) "Certified Copy of identification document"
  • Meldebescheinigung "Proof that" Ameldado "or is registered with the municipality"
  • Kopie des Originalausbildungsnachweises (Diplom usw.) - Amtlich beglaubigt "This is the trickiest part, a copy of the diploma legalized by the German consulate in Brazil, and to achieve legalization is necessary to recognize the firm (subscription) dean of the law of due office that has the form of Dean, thanks for the help mom "
  • Übersetzung des Ausbildungsnachweises (Diplom usw.) Amtlich beglaubigte Kopie oder der Übersetzung des Ausbildungsnachweises - Übersetzung durch einen und öffentlich bestellten beeidigten Übersetzer "Sworn translation of the diploma or certified copy of the translation and proof that the translator is sworn"
  • Kopie des Original Fächerkatalogs - amtlich beglaubigt "Certified copy of the school curriculum"
  • Übersetzung des Fächerkatalogs amtlich beglaubigte Kopie oder der Übersetzung des Fächerkatalogs - Übersetzung durch einen und öffentlich bestellten beeidigten Übersetzer "Sworn translation of the curriculum or certified copy of the translation and proof that the translator is sworn"

The copies I made directly at the town hall here. Hopefully this little recipe help those who want to make the recognition of his title, but if you need any more information just leave a comment below.

    Hello Martin!
Thanks for the tips for recognition, they are precious. I found great difficulty in tb information. I am electrical engineer and I am 3 years in Germany. Now that my son is 2 years, it's time to re-focus on the profession. Big hug and thanks again!

  • Martin http://www.riesel.com.br

I have a Brazilian friend who is also an electrical engineer who works here in Munich even without recognition, much depends on the company you work, clear that the recognition is important anyway here they are very sensitive to what is on paper but is not as in Brazil that a person may not work in a profession that has not officially announced all documents. That is what the company is to deside who she passes the responsibilities.
I know how my daughter is also two years in December and now my wife is trying to get to work in her case she has now a "Praktikum" (internship) to achieve such "Deutsch Erfahrung" (experience of working here) that the company always ask.

  • Martin http://www.riesel.com.br Riesel

After this post I put more intereçante in a news post:

I have a friend who is working as Mr. Electric here in Munich and he did not bother to acknowledge your diploma. But of course this can help you because the staff here is very attached to roles.
You need the amendment to continue studying, for example for a Masters or PhD.
To recognize I was asked to work history translated and diploma translated and authenticated by the consulate here in Brazil.

    Dear Martin,
thank you for your tips, rececentemente acquired German citizenship in July and I'm leaving for Hamburg, seeking work as an Electrical Engineer (formed UFSC - SC). I have a question about currúculo certified copy of the school. It is also necessary to translate the menu of courses (calculus, physics, circuits, ...) or just the name of the product?

    Dear Martin,

Thanks for your feedback, I am providing the translation of the diploma and transcript, I am now seeking employment.
This topic is not intended for this however I have these questions pounding in my head.
You can help me with some answers?
Military service for Germans who were abroad and returned (in my case citizenship) is required (10 months) so I checked, the wages they pay is minimal, about 300 euros, this information accurate?
Another question, as the German market is "hot" with respect to job opportunities for engineers?

    Graciously

  • Cadu

    Hi Martin!
First, thanks for the tips. He more or less to get an idea of what I had to do. But I still left a question: how long it took more or less the recognition process?

  • Martin http://www.riesel.com.br Riesel

Hi Cadu, after joining all documents aproximandamente took a year and half. I got some letters asking for me to have a little more patience.
But apparently the rules have changed for this year and the process should be faster, as I said in another post:

  • Germana Hollunder

    Hello Martin,

I would also like to recognize my degree here in Germany, but the detail is when I began studying my Federal University of Paraiba was that in the list, but when finished the course in Campina Grande I was one of the campuses, there was the break with it left my diploma Federal de Campina Graande that cosnta not on the list have any idea vopcê q should I do?

Hi Germaine, being a University think the problem will get. Try between the link that I passed the Post, see what the profession, then the responsible office. Contact them by email or phone, which you surely they must pass a list of domentos to send you.
The hardest is a certified copy of the diploma at the consulate here in Brazil. At first they are not going to ask you is your university diploma, that is analyzed by them later.

  • Cadu

    Hi, Martin. Okay?
Here is the Cadu again. I would like to ask you one more question: When you went to Germany, you had your job "routed" (not sure how to express myself, but a more or less guaranteed a job for you) or left to look for when he got there?

  • Martin http://www.riesel.com.br Riesel

Cadu Hi, I came to a temporary service, but with room and board guaranteed. Just do not fall for these services because you will not have time to search for anything. I think much easier to find a service here (if you have seen of course), because the company's responsibility is great if you take it from Brazil, she can not just dismiss you.
If you want to risk advise you to go north because the cost of living is lower, and if you need can take a minijob 400 Euros, it's easy to get some simple service a few hours per month.

  • Martin http://www.riesel.com.br Riesel

Here the majority of Brazilians are also meeo to recognize the diploma, if not try will never know. I do not know how these things are in Austria, but here is required to complete the study for those who want to continue the studies. That is if you want to leave for a Masters or PhD.
Although depending on the amount of material until it can be fun, as well as possilidade to make a good networking.
Here his diploma would be recognized as easily have come from mine by a large university, I majored in UFPR.
The recognition is cheaper to work cost about 60 euros, in fact the most expensive part was the consulate here in Brazil. If yes to continue studying there is expensive, not here but with the translation of the summary of the issues that you (forgot his name this booklet).

  • Talita

    Hi Martin!
Thank you for the infos! Very enlightening!
I am also a Civil Engineer. Graduated from UFSC in Florianopolis. Today I live in Austria, and I'm too scared to try the recognition of my degree here ... Maybe they deem a finding of "almost" equivalence, and send me back to Uni to do some courses that are not equal here. The problem is that the Union closer to my house, which has the course in Civil Engineering is 300km .... It is dose, right ...
Which Uni you graduaou in Brazil?
Asked to acknowledge in the TU-Munich?
How much was the recognition rate?

    Thankfully!

  • Andrea

Hello Martin, congratulations on winning the recognition. I have the address of Anabin too. I have a degree in speech therapy, I live in the State of Niedersachsen and here each state works differently. I'll try even if costs me my tongue. Thanks for the information.

  • Martin http://www.riesel.com.br Riesel

Hi Renata, I do not live in Munich. The copies I made in the same place I got the proof that I was "ameldada."
At the site of the Brazilian consulate you get some translators or Orkut question in some communities.

    Hello Martin!

Glad I found your blog .. walked behind the information to validate my diploma in Medical and Veterinary naum found any information!
    Thank you!

  • Renata Rath

    Hello Martin,
Thanks for the tips. I also have a question. You live in Berlin? Where you traduzio your diploma? P Is anyone say? You say you have certified copies at City Hall, but in that sector?
    Thank you,

  • Martin http://www.riesel.com.br Riesel

    Hello Evander,
Here things work a little differently, if you are working for some company you do not need the recognition of your diploma, because in this case who is responsible to verify that you are suitable is the enterprise. Just to work as a professional person is that we need to register with the Board of Engineers. But looking through the links above post the address and telephone number of person and talk directly, I could only get along with the process after all the talk and take questions personally.

  • Fabiane Romeiro

    Hello Martin,

paid for making the information public. It really is a sacred path that this process of recognition of the diploma. I am an architect and did not know how to legalize the diploma at the Brazilian embassy. Thank you.

    Hello Dear Martin,

I saw this post and decided to send you a message. I am currently in Germany to continue an intensive German to be able to work. Finalized my education at PUC Minas Gerais (Eng Electrician) and completes a Masters in Portugal. I have my documentation as a member of the U.S., graduate diploma in Brazil (known in Portugal) and Master in Portugal. In the case of recognition of diploma, I think I must translate my diploma must authenticate a German consulate in Brazil, despite being recognized in Portugal ... or can I log in Portugal? You know you tell me anything about this? Despite being registered with a professional (engineers order) in Portugal, can help anything?

    Thank you.

    Hello Sabrina,
do not know if you can validate the certificate directly from Brazil, but if you already live here will know where to contact the department.
In all cases already bring your diploma authenticated by the German consulate.
As for getting a job area Electrical Engineering and Mechanics are the easiest to get to work and seen, you can ask to be formed because the boyfriend is an independent German.
To work need not wait for the recognition of the diploma and can send your resume directly from Brazil if you want, I know people who have come to work right.
Just check where you will live in Berlin and East is much cheaper to live but it is harder to find work. Another point is the salary that they usually pay low for foreigners, but you can match service is showing in a few years.

  • Sabrina

    Hello Martin,
Thank you for your tips, I was looking for some time that, I just graduated in mechanical engineering at CEFET.Pretendo move to Germany one year from now, because my boyfriend is alemão.Você know if I can apply right here in Brazil to Validation of my diploma and I move after I get the answer? I am fluent in English, but my German is still básico.Voce think I can work as an engineer? Thank you

  • Rhuan

Hello Martin! I liked the respect in the area of recognition of diplomas. To recognize the need of my now also in Munich, but I got a doubt. I want to do a Masters here, is that the translation of my jumentada Diploma and Transcripts have used to register and I need this authentication German consulate?

  • Leiden

Hello Martin, thank you for the information provided above. I graduated in Full Degree in Letters (Portuguese, English and their respective literatures) and live three years ago here in Germany but still not got no work in my area. You know let me know how to validate my phaco both college diplomas as the Post Graduation? It is true that we must have at least level C in German to be able to teach here? I await your response and maybe a light where should I start.

  • Cassia thieleke

    hello Martin
thank you for this wonderful site!
    Please, I have a question:
Living in Germany is 1 year and 3 months and seeking recognition of my diploma pedagogia.Ja searched uitos places sucesso.Estava all without looking at your website and looked at my college list, it is not tb.
You by chance have some knowledge in this area?
thank you and a big hug

  • Martin http://www.riesel.com.br Riesel

    Hallo Cassia,
Even if your college is not listed please contact the agency responsible for the recognition of the link up there in the pasture.

  • Martin http://www.riesel.com.br Riesel

    Hello Leiden,
I do not know if you need to have a German higher education to teach English or Portuguese. Be careful what you hear out there, it is normal to receive misinformation even organs "competent."
The links of the post up there you will discover where to recognition, the procedure and documents required by state and change course.
Now to work this recognition need not, of course it helps, but the business and prepare a good Bewerbungsunterlagen and arrange for all vacancies to find.
    Good luck

  • Martin http://www.riesel.com.br Riesel

Rhuan better to see it straight to the university. For this case the process is different

  • Caroline

MARTIN very enlightening this post! I love your blog :-)

  • Renato Fonseca

I got a doubt it when you say you Curriculum refers to the marks obtained in the course (transcript) or only to the course syllabus with the workload of each subject?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Martin http://www.riesel.com.br Riesel

Hello Renato, the curriculum are the notes. As I reported the amendment of the course with a full description of the material is only necessary to translate if you want to recognize your qualification to continue studies in a masters or doctorate.

  • Dardi

Our Martin, you're to be congratulated for this initiative and their willingness and patience in wanting to help others. It is people like you that the world needs!

  • Suzane

Hello Martin, I'm glad there are people like you! ... Would like to take a question: my degree is already legalized by the German consulate in Brazil since 2008, but without the notarization of the Rector, can I send it anyway, or need the same recognition? ... and another on the link where are Befufstande, not have my profession which is in German and Physical Education would be "Sportlehrerin."
    Thank you!

  • Martin http://www.riesel.com.br Riesel

    Sorry did not reply before.
No need to notarize the signature of the dean no, I did it as required by the Consulate to receive the stamp of legalization.
Alias is a bitch because this is one of the notary stamp on the front of the diploma.
As the organ that you have to look for the link to enter Lehrer: http://www.anabin.de/xml/xmlStellenListe.asp?ID=28

Alias a clear text about this very interesting topic I found here:

And I can ta doing this in any consulate in Brazil, pq are several! I have to go in person? Where do I start? I live here and when I'm in Brazil and the coast of Piaui SP! if you could enlighten me it'll be very grateful! Hugs
    Vania

  • Pris Esteves

Hello Martin, I saw that this post has some time ... But then you also answers some questions. How long you lived there to legalize his diploma? Did you ever speak German? Have to speak German for that? How long to get everything in the hands? Hugs and thanks!

  • Martin http://www.riesel.com.br Riesel

These two factors did not influence this recognition, at least not in Bavaria. I register the Engineering Council is required to work before three years. But here is different because it is not mandatory to be registered.
