A few days ago I'm trying to test this new form of Google search, I saw the hint in Googlediscovery .

As Google's blog search engine that with the help of GPS should only be working on the iPhone and Android in version 2.0.1 and the U.S., but by what he saw here in Germany is working on Android 1.6. This I am sure that with the ROM Cyanogen Mod 4.2.13 and 4.2.10 from the ROM version that the browser on Android Eclair (2.x).

For me it appears the "Near me now" when I'm on the Web, but it appears the name of the city where I am. But all have Local search options of restaurants, cinemas, shops, ... closer to where I am. Detail is that these options appear only if I leave the browser in English or in German, in Portuguese also have the option to search for nearby places but the search does not show me a catalog of options.

One more detail to the preferences page of the Google page that asks for permission to use the location of the device.

But what is the great advantage of this system and see the video below.
